Why is Trumpet Section Leader the most important position in the BRB? Because the section leader is the only person who has a chance of getting the Trumpets to do anything at Band practice (other than play football: we are very good about working on our football game; not that it needs any work or anything, just that we get bored easily just standing around). And everyone knows that without a Trumpet Section, there is no band. The section leader does not get all of this power for nothing. There is a certain amount of crap that they have to put up with (like us refusing to do mostly everything). They also get to take the heat when the Trumpets do do something (i.e. climbing to the top of the Crescent and drop our pants). The section leader must be 100% Trumpet. They must be able to think of creative ways to annoy the rest of the band. They must know how to raise the Trumpets to a higher level. They must be able to do push-ups and count at the same time. Overall, they must be everything that it is to be a Trumpet. For all that our section leaders have done for us, we dedicate this section of the page. They will always be remembered as true Big Red Trumpets...
